Visit the Friends’ Bookstore, located just inside the entrance to the Merced Library (2100 O Street, Merced). Gently-used books, periodicals, and media are available at garage-sale prices. The Friends’ Bookstore features fiction for both children and adults and offers a wide selection of non-fiction, including books on cooking, financial assistance, self-improvement, religion, and history. While you’re there, check out the reference section and media offerings!

Annual and lifetime members of the Friends enjoy markdowns on most items. The Friends’ Bookstore sponsors occasional sales, like $3-for-a-bag-of-books or hardback specials, as well as seasonal sales with lots of stock and deep discounts. Come visit the Bookstore for real bargains!

Please read our Donation Guidelines before donating to maximize the impact of your donation. Bookstore proceeds are an important part of the Friends’ budget, which helps fund services and improvements at the Merced County Library.

We also support community groups that need used books, like the Central Star Crisis Residential Unit and the Little Free Libraries, by contributing some of our surplus books to them. If your charity needs used books, please contact us.
